【摘要】:Themoistureretainingabilityofaproductasdeterminedbythistestmethodisusedtoassessthesuitabilityofmaterialsforcontributingtoanappropriatecuringenvironmentforconcrete.Thelaboratorytestmethodisusedbothinformulatingandinspecifyingorqualifyingcuringproducts.Thistestmethodgivestheuserameasureoftheabilityoftestedcuringmaterialstoimpedetheescapeofmoisturefromahydrauliccementmortar.Sinceitisdesirabletoretainmoistureinfreshconcretetopromotethehydrationprocess,failureoftheproducttominimizetheescapeofmoisturemayleadtolossofstrength,cracking,shrinkage,orlowabrasionresistanceofthehardenedconcrete,oracombinationthereof.Manyfactorsaffectthelaboratorytestresults.Testresultsobtainedmaybehighlyvariableasindicatedbytheprecisionstatement.Criticalfactorsincludetheprecisionofthecontrolofthetemperature,humidityandaircirculationinthecuringcabinet,preparationandsealingofthemortarspecimens,theageandsurfaceconditionofthemortarspecimenwhenthecuringproductisapplied,andtheuniformityandquantityofapplicationofthecuringmembrane.1.1Thistestmethodcoverslaboratorydeterminationoftheefficiencyofliquidmembrane-formingcompoundsforcuringconcrete,asmeasuredbytheirabilitytoreducemoisturelossduringtheearlyhardeningperiod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Warning8212;Freshhydrauliccementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.)
