【摘要】:Controlofsilicainboilerfeedwaterandboilerwaterisnecessarytominimizetheformationofscale-formingsilicatesthatdecreaseheattransferintheboiler.Volatilizationandcarryoverofsilicawiththesteammaycausehard,glassysiliceousdepositstoformonturbinebladesthatreduceturbineefficiency.Colloidalsilicathatisnotremovedbyboilerwaterpretreatmentprocessesmaybesolubilizedintheboilerandthuscontributetothedissolvedsilicaconcentrationintheboiler.Bothdissolvedandtotalsilicaareofinterest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftotalsilicainwater.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableintherangefrom25to250[mu]g/LofsilicaasSiO.Higherconcentrationsmaybedeterminedbydecreasingthealiquotvolume(seeNote6).Concentrationrangeshouldnotbeextendedbydilution.1.3Thistestmethoddeterminestotalsilica,anddoesnotdistinguishbetweensolubleandinsolubleforms.1.4Thistestmethodwastestedonreagentwateronly.Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoassurethevalidityofthetestmethodforwatersofothermatrices.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
