【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedensityofpolyethylenethroughtheutilizationofultrasoundequipment.Thistestmethodisbasedonthedistinctbehaviorsoftheamorphousandcrystallinephasesofpolyethyleneinresponsetoultrasound.Polyethylenecanbeviewedasacompositestructurewherehigh-densitycrystallineregionsareconnectedbylower-densityamorphousmaterial.Theratioofcrystallinetoamorphousmaterialdeterminesthefinaldensityofthematerial.Theamorphousandcrystallinephasesexhibitverydistinctbehaviorswithregardtothepropagationofsoundwaves.Thepropagationcharacteristicsinthecompositewilldependontherelativeamountofthetwophases(thedegreeofcrystallinity).InorganicmaterialsincreasedensityasmeasuredbyTestMethodsD792andD1505,buttheyhavelittleornoeffectonultrasonicdensity.Theultrasonicmeasurementisbasicallyabaseresindensity.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1-ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
