【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversoneprocedurefordeterminingfatiguelifeatvariousextension-ratios.Thestraincycleischaracteristicofthetypeoftestapparatusspecified.Experienceinfatiguetestingshowsthatfatiguelifemayhaveawide,non-normaldistributionand,therefore,alargestandarddeviationthatiscompounddependent.Naturalrubber,forexample,hasshownanarrowerdistributionthanmanysyntheticrubbers.Alargenumberofspecimensmay,therefore,berequiredtoyieldthedesiredprecision.Comparisonofdifferentrubbercompoundsshouldbemadewithdueconsiderationtothestandarddeviationforeach(see7.1).Fatiguedata,asgeneratedinthistestmethod,giveprimarilyanestimateofthecrackinitationbehaviorofarubbervulcanizateandonlyaveryapproximatemeasureofthecrackpropagationrate.Theinformationobtainedmaybeusefulinpredictingtheflex-lifeperformanceofacompoundinactiveservice;however,theusershouldbeawarethatinactualuse,productsaresubjectedtomanyotherfatiguefactorsnotmeasuredinthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoffatiguelifeofrubbercompoundsundergoingatensile-straincycle.Duringpartofthecycle,thestrainisrelaxedtoazerovalue.Thespecimensaretestedwithoutintentionallyinitiatedflaws,cuts,orcracks.Failureisindicatedbyacompleteruptureofthetestspecimen.1.2Noexactcorrelationbetweenthesetestresultsandserviceisgivenorimplied.Thisisduetothevariednatureofserviceconditions.Thesetestproceduresdoyielddatathatcanbeusedforthecomparativeevaluationofrubbercompoundsfortheirabilitytoresist(dynamic)extensioncyclingfatigue.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
